Hexagon Star (Small) - Handpieced (without English Paper Piecing)

This is one of two blocks I designed for my 'Garden of Stars' quilt. How they came to being was quite simple -- after *cough,cough*twenty*cough,cough* years of sewing hexagons into 'flowers' I needed something new. I stumbled upon a hexagon star pattern from the 30s and it eventually evolved into two stars. This is the smaller of the two.
